Zooplankton surveys may aid in salmon recovery

Scientists within the Puget Sound region, including those with the Nisqually Tribe, have started to show more interested in zooplankton. Zooplankton are tiny animals that feed on tiny plants, and are an important link in the food chain. By monitoring zooplankton numbers, scientists are hoping to shed light on declining salmon numbers in the region.
