Working to protect and promote the Nisqually Watershed for current and future generations

Tree planting season in full swing!

The Nisqually River Education Project’s tree planting season is in full swing! This year, NREP is hosting trips in the Ohop Valley and at a newly acquired Nisqually Land Trust property. The Ohop Valley trips finished yesterday with students planting nearly 2,500 native trees and shrubs!

Yesterday’s students had a special guest: Nisqually tribal elder David Stepetin joined the trip to share his wisdom. David noted that by planting trees, we are also planting our futures. These trees will provide benefits for hundreds of years, making the earth a healthier place for people, plants and animals!
