Working to protect and promote the Nisqually Watershed for current and future generations

Nisqually Watershed Poster Contest – Deadline Approaching!

The Nisqually Watershed Festival is an annual celebration of the people, plants, and animals of the Nisqually Watershed. Each year, students in grades 1st-6th have the opportunity to submit their original artwork to the Nisqually Watershed Poster Contest, with artwork featured at the Festival! This year’s theme is “Migratory Birds of the Nisqually.”

A grand prize winner is selected, and their artwork is used to advertise for the event. Additionally, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners are selected from each grade level. These talented artists have their artwork displayed on the mainstage at the festival, and receive prizes during an awards ceremony! Bonus: ALL teachers who participate in the Poster Contest are entered into a drawing to receive a FREE field trip to the Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge!

The deadline to submit artwork is quickly approaching: all artwork MUST be received by Friday, June 3rd.

The Nisqually River Education Project WCC Americorps Volunteer, Aleks, and the Billy Frank Jr Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge WSC Americorps Volunteer, Danika, put together a video that will help students design and create a poster for the contest.

Questions can be directed to info@nisquallyriver.org or 360.438.8715. Good luck, artists!
