Event Details

Volunteer with local Cadette Girl Scouts on a plant salvage, removing unwanted Shore Pine and Douglas Fir from prairie habitat at the Glacial Heritage Preserve, to be planted later at a riparian restoration site along the Nisqually River.

More detailed directions are below:

From I-5: – Take exit 95 for Maytown

– Head West on Maytown Rd. SW; if you’re exiting from South bound I-5 you will be heading in the correct direction.

– Follow Maytown Rd. SW until you reach the stop sign at Littlerock Elementary School.

– Stay STRAIGHT through this stop sign and the town of Littlerock – do not head South on Littlerock Rd.

– This roads turns into 128th Ave. SW.

– Follow this road until it ends at a ‘T’ intersection with Mima Rd. SW/Waddel Creek Rd. SW.

– Turn LEFT onto Mima Rd. SW.

– Follow Mima Rd. SW for approximately 2.6 miles. You will pass Weyerhauser’s Mima tree nursery, and shortly after that a small brown sign marking Glacial Heritage Preserve, turn LEFT onto this gravel road.

– Follow this gravel road to a white gate and go through the gate. You will reach a 4 way intersection – take a right and follow the road up the hill, staying to the left.

– Follow signs to the volunteer office and the parking area.
